Georgia's net tax revenues for April 2025 totaled $3.73 billion, down 5.8% from April 2024. The decline is largely attributed to extended individual and corporate tax filing deadlines following hurricane related disruptions. Early May payments have since rebounded above last year’s figures.

Year to date net tax revenues reached $27.77 billion, up $312.2 million. However, adjusting for last year’s temporary suspension of the motor fuel tax, collections are actually down 0.6%.

April’s dip includes a $55.9 million drop in individual income tax collections and a $207.9 million decline in corporate income taxes. Sales and use tax collections rose by $70.4 million, while motor fuel taxes increased 3.4%.

Officials noted the shortfall is expected to even out following the May 1 tax deadline, with many filers submitting returns later than usual due to the extension.
