New Public Service and Outreach VP named

After a national search the University of Georgia has named one of their own, Stacy Jones, the new vice president for public service and outreach. The position, previously held by Jennifer Frum, consists of supporting the university’s public service mission which impacts every county in Georgia.

PSO in partnership with UGA Cooperative Extension and other academic units, applies the university’s knowledge to the state’s evolving economic, social, and community needs. The new VP will continue to support educational initiatives such as the classes provided at the State Botanical Garden, the small business development center, and six other programs that address these needs.

Jones said “I’m honored to continue leading that effort in this new capacity.” Jones has been working at UGA for over 12 years and before that got her bachelor’s degree in consumer journalism and her doctorate in higher education management from the university.
