Woman injured in shooting near UGA campus

A man is being charged with attempted murder after reports of a shooting not far from campus.

On December 1st, at approximately 6:38 am, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to a report of a shooting incident in the South Milledge area at 995 Baxter street.

At the scene, officers discovered a female had been shot. The woman was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

ACCPD’s investigation led to the arrest of a suspect, Carl Clark - a 74-year-old male of Athens, GA. Clark is being charged with Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery and Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder.
