Car crashes into Athens Kroger, injuring four

Four people were injured after a car plowed into the Kroger supermarket on Alps Road in Athens on Tuesday morning.

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating why a car crashed into Kroger on Alps Road on Tuesday shortly before 11 am. Four people were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police department did not say it had made any arrests in connection with the incident.

The Kroger Company said in a statement that the safety of its associates and customers is its top priority.
