Kimberly Bennet runs for District 5 Commissioner, presents priorities

Kimberly Bennett is the Executive Director of Cultivating a Lifetime of Legacy, Inc, a local nonprofit organization focused on youth mentorship. Bennett recently announced that she will run for the Commissioner’s seat in District 5 of Athens-Clarke County. She joins opponents Rick Stanziale and Zander Mason in the race. Bennett sat down with WUGA’s Emma Auer to discuss her platform.

Emma Auer is an award-winning reporter who joined WUGA as a full-time producer in 2024. She is also a graduate student in UGA's Romance Languages Department, studying French and Spanish. She covers the breadth of Northeast Georgia stories, from Athens City Hall to Winterville farmers' markets. Emma's work has also been heard on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
