Testimony Thursday in the trial of Colin Gray detailed hundreds of dollars in firearm and tactical accessory purchases made for his son in the months leading up to the deadly Apalachee High School shooting.
Investigators said Gray spent approximately $909 in November 2023 at Mike’s Gun Room, representing the full purchase price of the rifle. Financial records presented by Barrow County District Attorney’s Office investigator Ashley Gilleland showed additional purchases at Academy Sports + Outdoors and other stores, including laser sights, ammunition and tactical rail systems later recovered from the crime scene.
Prosecutors allege Gray allowed access to firearms despite mounting warning signs about his son, Colt Gray, who is accused of killing four people and injuring nine others on Sept. 4, 2024.
Evidence included an April 2024 email acknowledging Colt was “relentless,” text messages expressing concern, and prior FBI scrutiny over alleged online threats.
