Ryan Millsap, a Georgia film executive, announced that he will run for United States Congress in a video posted to his social media and campaign website on Wednesday.

“I’m Ryan Millsap, political outsider and MAGA warrior," Millsap said in the campaign ad.

He will run against Gaines, an Athens native and current Georgia state representative, in the Republican primary for the seat. Millsap portrays himself as an alternative to Gaines in the video, though their platforms focus on many of the same issues.

Millsap says in the video that some of his goals are stopping illegal immigration, passing national voter ID laws and banning hormone therapy for children.

Additional candidates who have qualified to run for the 10th District seat include Republican Jeffrey Dwayne Baker and Democrats Lexy Doherty, John Dority, and Pam Delancy.
