An Oconee County record store owner was arrested in Richmond County for several sexual crimes.

James Raleigh Bryant, owner of the Oconee County record store Rock Nobster, was arrested on Thursday in Richmond County, Georgia. He is being held on charges including statutory rape, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and others.

The 58-year-old remains in the Richmond County jail as of Monday. He was also arrested in December 2025 in Oconee County on charges of misdemeanor sexual battery.

Finance filings state that the campaign of Athens-Clarke County mayoral candidate Tim Denson received two thousand-dollar donations from Bryant’s business. In a statement, the campaign said it had received the donations before Bryant’s alleged sexual misconduct occurred last year. The campaign said it will donate the contributions to local organizations that support survivors of intimate partner violence.
