Jefferson man arrested in triple shooting

A second shooting victim has died after being injured in a triple shooting on Saturday, March 14th. According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, 19-year-old Dylan Bentley, of Jefferson, died on Sunday. 22-year-old Clayton Adams of Hull, died at the scene.

Police arrested 22-year-old Mark Desousa, of Jefferson, in connection with the shooting. He was charged with Malice Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Aggravated Battery.

20-year-old Landon Skinner was reportedly shot in the eye during the incident and is being treated at Grady Hospital in Atlanta. He remains in critical condition.

On Saturday, officers responded to a report of a shooting in a parking lot in the 400 block of North Jackson Street and found the three victims.

The ACCPD partnered with the GBI, District Attorney’s Office, Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, FBI Safe Streets, FBI Atlanta Field Division, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in this case.
