The Athens-Clarke County Fire Department recently opened applications for new and experienced firefighters and EMTs. The application can be found on the ACCGov website.
At this time, the ACC Fire Department is offering a $3,000 hiring incentive to be paid out in increments over 12 months.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent certificate to apply.
Applicants will also need to successfully pass through three phases in the application process, including a Physical Agility Test.
Athens-Clarke County Firefighters do perform fire suppression and provide emergency medical care, but they also provide fire and life safety prevention programs to the community.
