As early voting for the primary election begins Monday in Georgia, several environmental organizations will hold a forum with candidates vying for Athens-Clarke County’s mayoral seat.

Ten local organizations will host the forum Monday night, including the Athens Land Trust and the Coalition of Athens Scientists. The organizations say all five mayoral candidates will be in attendance. They will be asked to share their views on issues related to climate resilience, clean and renewable energy, and more.

Local science activist Olivia Asher will moderate the discussion.

The forum is set to take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Athens-Clarke County Library, where there will also be an information fair with local organizations.

Early voting for the primary election, including several local contests, begins on Monday and will end on May 15th. Election day will be May 19th.
