The Cottage hosting Athens's Got Talent 2026

Athens nonprofit The Cottage is hosting its annual fundraiser, Athens’s Got Talent this weekend.
The all-ages talent show will take place at Terrapin Beer Company on Saturday, May 16, from 6 to 8:30 pm. Proceeds will support The Cottage’s work providing free services to survivors of sexual violence and child abuse in the Athens area.
Executive Director Linnea Ionno:

“We have 10 contestants of different ages and different talent backgrounds coming to compete for judge favorite, based on their talent,” Ionno said. “And then audience favorite which is based on votes."

Bidding is now open for a silent auction featuring a variety of prizes, including collectors’ items, travel, and club memberships, according to President Stephanie Rountree:

“One of our featured items is a collection of swag from the band R.E.M. which was given to The Cottage personally by the band,” said Rountree. “So, we’re especially proud of that particular item. Another is, we’ve got this fabulous Nike UGA visor that was signed personally by Kirby Smart and gifted to The Cottage as part of our grant with the Kirby Smart Family Foundation.”

This year’s event is presented by The Wild Rumpus. Visit www.northgeorgiacottage.org/Athens-got-talent, for more.
