The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating a fatal dirt bike crash. On the afternoon of May 16, officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Whit Davis Road and Pettit Lane. They found 28-year-old Worley Lorenzo Robinson, of Elberton, in the road with critical injuries. EMS transported Robinson to a local hospital in critical condition.

This is the fifth fatal crash in Athens-Clarke County in 2026.
