Star Spangled Classic fireworks, festival to take place June 27

June 28, 2025 - Community members enjoy the carnival rides at ACC's Star Spangled Classic.

Athens-Clarke County will celebrate Independence Day with the Star Spangled Classic Saturday, June 27.

The Star Spangled Classic festival will start at 6 p.m. at Southeast Clarke Park. The free event will have carnival rides, face painting, food trucks and more. The Original Splitz Band will perform at 7 p.m. Fireworks will begin around 9:30 p.m.

Onsite parking is limited and available on a first-come, first served basis. Additional parking will be at the Lexington Road Walmart and Whit Davis Elementary School. Athens Transit will provide a shuttle service to the park. All parking lots will open at 5:30 p.m.

Usual Athens-Clarke County park rules will be enforced. This means alcohol, grills, smoking and personal fireworks are not permitted. Pets are also not allowed at this event.

Southeast Clarke Park will close at the end of the fireworks show.
