Several key partisan and nonpartisan races were on the ballot Tuesday, June 16th in the runoff election. Voters in Georgia decided who would be the Republican candidates for both Senate and Governor races. Meanwhile, Athens-Clarke County voters chose the next mayor and filled two contested commission seats.

Charles Bullock is the Richard B. Russell Chair in Political Science at the School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Georgia. He sat down with WUGA’s Havivah Saltz to discuss this week’s election results.

Havivah Saltz has been with WUGA since 2023 as an on-air host and the producer for African Perspectives. She got her start in radio on WOBC FM at Oberlin College (class of ‘23), and she’s also an on-air host on Athens' Power 100.1 and Magic 102.1. Outside of work, you can find Havivah making art, writing fiction, practicing Japanese, petting her very round cat, and watching concerning amounts of TV.
