Senator Jon Ossoff is reintroducing a federal voting rights bill first announced in 2021, according to a release Wednesday.

The Right to Vote Act would establish a first-ever statutory right to vote in federal elections, and allow voters to challenge in court any policy that unduly restricts ballot access.

The senator's office says it would establish protections from 'laws that make it harder to cast a ballot.'

Representative Summer Lee (D-PA-12) is introducing the companion bill in the House.
