Sheriff John Q. Williams held a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
The Sheriff covered a variety of topics including upgrades at the jail, a new HEAT grant project targeting traffic violations, and the addition of several so-called “Doc in a Box” cases. Rob Williams with Zoll Medical described the units.
“It’s a very robust trauma kit,” according to Rob Williams with Zoll Medical. “We have multiple tourniquets, you have multiple, what’s called quick clots, compression dressings, and chest seals, and burn dressings, and splints for broken bones, ice packs, allergic reactions, etcetera, etcetera.”
The kits can also be used to treat drug overdoses.
Zoll Medical provides free training on using the trauma kits.
