Dexter Fisher wants to speed up TSPLOST projects as ACC’s next mayor
Though the election of Athens-Clarke County’s next mayor is just under a year away, two candidates have already entered the race.
Dexter Fisher has represented District 5 on the Athens-Clarke County Commission since 2023, after retiring from a career in public service. He announced in June that he will run for mayor of the county. He sat down with WUGA’s Emma Auer to discuss his qualifications, and his thoughts on how to solve some of the county’s most pressing issues.
Tim Denson hopes to bring “bias towards action” as next ACC mayor
Longtime local politician and community organizer Tim Denson announced in June that he is joining the race for Athens’ next mayor. Denson is currently a member of the Clarke County School District Board of Education, representing District 5. He is also a Team Lead at the Athens Homeless Day Service Center.
