Athens Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest/Drug Charges

Clarke County Sheriff's Office

A Watkinsville man is facing several charges after a routine traffic stop yields drugs and other paraphernalia.

On Monday evening, an Athens-Clarke County Patrol Officer pulled over a vehicle being driven by Justin Clouse for a taillight violation.

Officers discovered Clouse had an arrest warrant. A search of his vehicle turned up cash, digital scales, electronics and cell phones.

An additional search led to police finding containers with large magnets on the bottom which were attached to the car frame and held over one pound of crystal methamphetamine, hydrocodone and other pills.
