Conducting & Preserving Family Oral Histories at Athens-Clarke County Library, November 3

Athens Regional Library

The Athens-Clarke County Library’s Heritage Room and Clarke-Oconee Genealogical Society will host a class called “Conducting and Preserving Family Oral Histories” at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, at the library. Angela C. Spitzer Stanley, Director of Georgia HomePLACE and certified archivist, will guide you through the process of planning for, conducting, and preserving family oral history interviews.

Conducting oral history interviews with family memory keepers is a great way to record data that may not be found in written sources—and these interviews can also provide lasting personal touchstones to a person’s character. For more information, call the library at (706) 613-3650. The Athens-Clarke County Library is located at 2025 Baxter Street, Athens.
