UGA-Notre Dame Game, Buyer Beware for Tickets

Georgia Dogs

The University of Georgia-Notre Dame game is nearly here and the Georgia athletic association is ready for the crowds.

Sanford Stadium will be filled past official capacity this Saturday as the Bulldogs take on the Fighting Irish. UGA’ s Deputy Athletic Director Josh Brooks says with the 92,246 people expected in the stands, get there early.

“Just getting here, we know the traffic and everything’s going to be a little more intense than usual so whatever your normal routine is, get here an hour or two earlier than you usually would.”

He says UGA is taking a page out of the Notre Dame playbook when it comes to customer service.

“We really want to improve the customer experience,” brooks said. “One of the things we took away from our trips to Notre Dame a couple of years ago was just the way they treated visitors and a year ago we started the Silver Dawg program which is a volunteer program. We have over 100 Silver Dawgs now who will be welcoming people, helping them answer questions.”

Notre Dame is getting 500 more tickets than usual, the same amount the Irish provided for Bulldog fans at their last encounter. Brooks says do not wat until tomorrow to purchase tickets, but if you do, it’s buyer beware.

“Do not look to buy or sell tickets on campus on game day,” according to Brooks. “There’s going to be a number either of counterfeit tickets or counterfeit money, so be very wary of doing any exchanges in person on the day of at campus.”

Among the practical advice Brooks shares, what to do when it comes to using gates for this game. This week, only students can use gate 1, those who typically use gate 2, the busiest, should use just about any other, 3, 4 or 4A, He recommends fans use gate 10 since it’s been expanded and moves people through the quickest.

ESPN Game Day will be camped out on Myers Quad. The game will be broadcast on CBS. Kickoff is 8 pm.
