The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a student was found with a gun on campus.
According to a media release from the department, at around 8:40 Tuesday morning, the School Resource Officer at Winder-Barrow High School received a tip that a student on campus was in possession of a firearm.
The officer contacted the student and took the gun with incident. The investigation led to another student who actually brought the gun to school.
Two juveniles were taken into custody, charged with possession of a firearm on school property, and transported to the Regional Youth Detention Center.
There is no evidence of any intent by either of the juveniles to use the gun on campus.
