Athens-Clarke County Police Department make four arrests in armed robbery

Athens-Clarke County Police have arrested four men in connection with an armed robbery. On March 26, at around 2:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the four hundred block of Minor Street. They located the suspects at 700 US-29, where they recovered stolen property.

22-year-old Emory Simmons of Athens, 18-year-old Zachariah Roberts of Colbert, 22-year-old Sherod Porter of Hull, and 22-year-old Raequan Thomas of Athens, were arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Armed Robbery, and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Crime. Police say this is an active investigation.
