“All right, that motion passes,” Dr. Mumby Anderson addressed the board. “Please join me in welcoming a leader who is deeply committed to this community and to ensuring success for every student, Dr. Scott. Congratulations. Thank you.”

Clarke County Board of Education members voted unanimously in favor of Dr. Jennifer Scott, who has been serving as the interim superintendent.
She took over the position in July 2025, following the retirement of former CCSD superintendent, Dr. Robbie Hooker.
Board President Dr. Mumby Anderson again.

“As deputy superintendent, she led some of the district's most notable academic gains, including significant increases in CRPI scores, improved early literacy outcomes, stronger math performance, and higher graduation rates, all grounded in a clear instructional vision, and strong accountability systems.”

After a 14-day waiting period, the board will vote for Dr. Scott to become the superintendent. Her packet is available for viewing on the district website. Dr. Scott has been with CCSD since 1998. She has held positions including classroom teacher, principal, and deputy superintendent. The district conducted a national search which drew 32 applicants.
