Deadline to request runoff absentee ballot June 5

The Athens-Clarke County Elections Department is preparing for the June 16 runoff elections.

The last day to request an absentee ballot for this month’s runoff is Friday, June 5. Voters can do so online or at the Elections Office.

All voters will vote in the runoff for Athens-Clarke County mayor. There is also runoffs for ACC Commission Districts 5 and 9. There are differences in the statewide runoffs on the Democratic and Republican ballots. Composite sample ballots can be found on the Athens-Clarke County Elections Department website.

Early voting will take place Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12 at the Athens-Clarke County Elections Office, library and tennis center.

Election Day is June 16. All polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

All registered voters are eligible to vote in the runoff, regardless of whether they voted in the May 19 general primary and nonpartisan election.
