It’s been announced that Dr. Anne Shaffer will be stepping in as the interim dean of the University of Georgia’s Graduate School.
Dr. Shaffer will be filling in for Ron Walcott who was recently named UGA’s interim senior vice president for academic affairs and provost.
This shuffle of leadership at the university comes as a result of the previous senior vice president for academic affairs and provost, Dr. Benjamin Ayers, accepting the role of President at Clemson University.
Dr. Shaffer has been a part of the UGA faculty since 2008 and has served in the Graduate School since 2021. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and researcher who has spearheaded several initiatives created to facilitate graduate student well-being and academic success.
The previous dean of the grad school, Dr. Walcott, says that he is confident in Dr. Shaffer’s leadership.
