This is April 15th, Tax Day, the last day to file your federal and state income taxes, or file for an extension. The personal finance website WalletHub conducted a study to see which states had the best and worst taxpayer return on investment, or ROI.

Thanks to the changes in Individual Income Tax, Sales and Use Tax, and Corporate Income Tax , March’s net tax revenue saw a 4.8% increase compared to March 2025.

Tax revenue collected by the state of Georgia last month decreased by over $18 million compared to last year.

The new Senate Committee on Eliminating Georgia’s Income Tax, chaired by Blake Tillery, will hold hearings later this summer and fall.

Legislative Republicans and conservative tax advocates have long pushed to abolish Georgia’s income tax to increase the state’s competitiveness for jobs against neighboring states.
