As the Clarke County School District (CCDS) searches for a new superintendent, CCSD, along with the Georgia School Board Association, is providing the community with updates.
In March, the Board of Education will review 32 applicants for the superintendent position in the Clarke County School District and decide which candidates move forward for in-person interviews. As part of the search, CCSD, CCSD Board of Education and the Georgia School Board Association conducted a community survey to identify desired traits for the position.
A survey was open from January 13th to February 2nd for all community members. A total of 273 people responded to the survey, which included parents/guardians, community members, teachers, and staff members.
Overall, the survey reflected that community members want a superintendent who is ethical, visible, instructionally strong, connected to Athens, and more. The finalists for the position will be publicly announced in May.
