Former Athens-Clarke County law enforcement officer William Ricketts took the stand on Day 7 of the trial of Edrick Faust.

Two witnesses have taken the stand so far on Tuesday, the second day in the murder of Tara Baker, including a former classmate and close friend of the UGA law student who was slain over 25 years ago.

Officers determined that the parked vehicle began rolling in reverse and struck and rolled over the driver, George Whittenburg, who was standing outside the driver’s door.

Lawyers presented opening arguments in the trial of the alleged murderer of Tara Baker, a University of Georgia law student who was killed in 2001.

The man is accused of killing a UGA student in a DUI-related accident back in February of 2023.
